Not many games on this Sunday slate. Let’s break it down.
PHO @ OKC (-12.5) o/u 219
PHO: Phoenix looked awful yesterday against the Grizzlies outside of Ayton. They now get the Thunder in what could be another blowout. Ayton has another tough matchup against Adams. Canaan doesn’t do much out there, but has a good matchup against Westbrook or Schroder. Ariza is going to try and take over, but he also has Paul George defense to face. Josh Jackson had 7 turnovers yesterday and can’t get much worse than that, but is still a bit too expensive for my taste.
Tier 2: Ayton, Canaan (GPP), Ariza (GPP), Warren (GPP)
Tier 3: Jackson (GPP)
OKC: The news to watch for is whether or not Westbrook is playing. If he is playing he will be hard to fade on this 3 game slate. If he is out then Schroder becomes a lock. I actually like Schroder in this regardless as a contrarian play that could also get some extra run in the blowout. Jerami Grant got the start last week and should stay in the lineup again against Anderson. If this turns to a blowout Noel looks like a great play as well as Hamidou as they should get extra run
Tier 1: Diallo, Noel, Schroder (GPP), Grant, Westbrook (if he plays)
Tier 2: Adams
UTA @ DAL (+5) o/u 213
UTA: Favors is out today so Gobert will be relied on more in the paint. He should have a solid battle with Deandre Jordan today. Rubio went off and now gets DSJ defense which is beatable. At $5400 he needs a look. Ingles probably has the best matchup here against Doncic. Matthews is a capable defender and could slow Mitchell down enough to not reach value at his $8400 price.
Tier 1: Rubio
Tier 2: Gobert, Mitchell, Ingles
Tier 3: Niang (GPP)
DAL: Not much jumps out on this Dallas team. DJ gets Gobert, Barnes is rusty, and Doncic has a tough matchup with Ingles. Dennis may have the best matchup here. Maxi is worth a look at $3700 as he’s been getting over 20+ minutes a game and producing at a good rate.
Tier 2: DJ, Barnes (GPP), Maxi, Doncic
Tier 3: DSJ
WAS @ LAC (-4) o/u 230
WAS: Wizards in LA should be a high scoring game. I am a tad weary on these Sunday games knowing that the visiting team could be a bit sluggish after a Saturday night out in LA. Not saying they did go out, but I have been burned by it in the past. Wall has a tough matchup with Beverley. By tough I mean may slow him down some. Beal has Avery defense which really isn’t a thing anymore. Porter and Morris have plus matchups against Harris and Gallinari respectively. Oubre has seen a lot of run and is rolling. He’s my favorite play in this game.
Tier 1: Oubre, Porter (GPP), Wall, Beal
Tier 2: Morris
LAC: Beverley will be relied on to guard Wall a lot in this one. If he stays out of foul trouble he could be a sneaky play. Harris and Gallinari take on a bulk of the offense. I like Harris’s matchup with Porter more than I do Gallinari against Markieff. Lou Will off the bench is a nice GPP play. Harrell is going to be highly owned now that everyone is seeing him play well. This is a home revenge game for Gortat, but he isn’t getting many minutes. At $3700 you could try a GPP lineup with him.
Tier 1: Harris, Gallinari, Beverley (GPP), Harrell
Tier 2: Shai, Lou Will (GPP)
Tier 3: Gortat (GPP)
Good talk and good luck
