9 game slate as we get back to the Monday grind. Let’s get after it.
ORL @ WAS (-7.5) o/u 222
ORL: I feel like these guys just played each other, oh yeah they did. Orlando is on the second game of a back to back here, on the road, and their prices are going up. Jarell Martin did stay at min so if Gordon is ruled out I will be locking him in.
Tier 1: Martin (if Gordon is out)
Tier 2: Vooch, Jerian Grant
Tier 3: Ross (GPP), Bamba
WAS: These guys just played 4 days ago and while the Magic players’ price tags rose, the Wiz got a decrease. Wall is only $8600 even though he has averaged over 50 DK fpts across the last 4. Unless the Magic suddenly found a way to stop him, Wall should be considered in all formats. Beal is also in the same boat after coming down to 7.1k.
Tier 1: Wall, Beal
Tier 2: Green, Howard
Tier 3: Rivers
NO @ TOR (-9) o/u 231
NO: Pay attention to what Nikola and Elfrid’s statuses are for this game. If they are out then Jrue and Randle become much better plays. If Elfrid plays and has no limitations then he is going to be on my radar.
Tier 1: Elfrid (if he plays), Randle (if Mirotic sits), Jrue (if Elfrid sits)
Tier 2: AD, Moore, Jrue (if Elfrid plays)
Tier 3: Randle (if Mirotic plays)
TOR: The Raptors continue to look very good with or without Kawhi. Kawhi should be active for this one in what should be one of their more competitive games (hopefully). The issue with rostering their players has been the blowouts. If this one doesn’t go that way then Lowry and Leonard are good plays. Ibaka has a bad matchup with AD and his price is high enough to warrant not playing him. Lost some appeal for Siakam as well with his increased tag.
Tier 1: Lowry, Leonard
Tier 2: Jonas (GPP), Green
Tier 3: Siakam, Ibaka
PHI @ MIA (-1.5) o/u 223
PHI: Philly will most likely be short-handed again in this one as Butler should make his debut on Wednesday. Last game Bolden disappointed me as the Sixers went small and started Shamet and Redick. Muscala is probable for this game and was getting minutes in the 20s before he got hurt. I would think the Sixers will start Muscala now and move Redick back to the bench, but make sure to confirm before game time. Chandler is also being eased into the rotation so he could be a potential starter as well.
Tier 1: Shamet (if he starts), Muscala (if he starts)
Tier 2: Embiid, McConnell, Redick, Fultz, Simmons, Chandler
Tier 3: Korkmaz
MIA: The Heat are looking good behind Whiteside right now. He has some history with Embiid so hopefully he can stay motivated for this one. Dragic needs to shake off the rust a bit more as he went 0-7 on his return from injury last game. He is down to $5800 which is a bit intriguing for GPPs.
Tier 1: Whiteside
Tier 2: Ellington, Richardson
Tier 3: Dragic (GPP), Winslow
DAL @ CHI (+1) o/u 213
DAL: Wes Matthews is doubtful today so Finney-Smith or Barea should enter the starting linuep and see some extended run. Barea is a great play regardless here, and in fact I like him more off the bench so his usage is higher.
Tier 1: Barea, Dorian Finney-Smith (if he starts), DSJ
Tier 2: Barnes, Doncic
Tier 3: DJ, Kleber (GPP)
CHI: Dallas has been a team to target guards against so far this year. LaVine is that target for me. Arcidiacono has taken over the starting point guard role yet doesn’t do a whole lot out there. He’s also shot great and played 30+ minutes in the last 2 games, yet still didn’t break 24 DK fpts. That may be his ceiling right now.
Tier 1: LaVine (GPP)
Tier 2: Holiday, Arcidiacono, Parker, Carter
Tier 3: Hutchinson
BKN @ MIN (-3) o/u 224
BKN: Brooklyn’s rotation is so inconsistent it is hard to roster anyone. LeVert tweaked his knee last game and is questionable today, but even if he sits it’s hard to tell where those minutes will go. The only play I really like is Jarrett Allen. He remains cheap and should get 25+ minutes here against the larger frontcourt of the T-Wolves.
Tier 1: Allen
Tier 2: LeVert (if he plays), RHJ
Tier 3: Russell, Dinwiddie, Harris, Crabbe, Carroll, Napier
MIN: Butler was traded so that should clear up the rotation a bit in Minnesota at least for this game. Teague is out already as well and Wiggins is currently questionable. Rose has been playing great and still in play at 7.5k. Taj seems a bit expensive here, but this may be the last time we roster him for awhile with Saric coming to town. KAT is also viable here.
Tier 1: KAT, Rose
Tier 2: Taj, Wiggins, Tyus, Okogie
UTA @ MEM (+3) o/u 204
UTA: Jingles finally had a good game for DFS against one of the tougher teams the Celtics. He may be able to parlay that performance here. Gobert is a fade against Gasol for me. Mitchell is in that territory too as he hasn’t done much this season yet still remains expensive. Crowder might be my favorite play here. He’s playing well and seeing around 30 minutes most nights.
Tier 1: Crowder, Rubio
Tier 2: Ingles
Tier 3: Favors
MEM: Gasol is too cheap for what he’s been doing on the court. He just played 41 minutes a couple nights ago against Embiid and now should continue that strong play against Gobert showing he is still one of the best big men in the league. Conley and Anderson are in similar situations, but Gasol stands out as the best play to me in this game.
Tier 1: Gasol, Anderson, Conley
Tier 2: JJJ
Tier 3: Temple
PHO @ OKC (-9) o/u 214
PHO: Warren if in the starting lineup again is going to be a popular play and rightfully so. He gives the Suns some much needed offense behind Ayton and Booker. Ayton gets a tough matchup with Adams so I won’t be looking his way. There are so many other plays at center you can avoid that matchup. Booker is in play again but he has been hit or miss recently so more a Tier 2 play today in my book.
Tier 1: Warren
Tier 2: Booker, Canaan
Tier 3: Ariza, Josh Jackson (GPP)
OKC: Westbrook is still out so we get more Schroder. Adams is fairly priced here and should continue to be on the radar while Russ is out and not stealing his boards. Ariza is still a decent defender and should be able to at least slow PG down enough to not warrant playing him at the elevated price.
Tier 1: Adams
Tier 2: Schroder, Grant
Tier 3: PG, Noel (GPP)
SA @ SAC (+3) o/u 218
SA: Derrick White got some extended run against the Rockets and looked good doing it. If he can parlay that performance this may be the lowest price we see from here for the froeeable future. LMA is also fairly cheap here against Cauley-Stein who doesn’t really have post defense outside of blocking shots once in awhile. Gay may return this game and it is a revenge game for him. His price is up to $6500 though so I don’t have a whole lot of appeal here on his first game vack from injury.
Tier 1: White, LMA
Tier 2: Demar
Tier 3: Gay
SAC: The Kings have some players to always consider in Fox, Hield, and WCS, but today I’m not particularly high on them. Hield is my favorite of the 3 here against Gay or Demar, but I’m still wary. Just realized I’ve been mixing in the wrong ‘weary’ in my posts… oh well.
Tier 1: Hield (GPP)
Tier 2: Fox, WCS, Bagley (GPP)
Tier 3: Bjelica (GPP)
GS @ LAC (+3.5) o/u 228
GS: The Warriors are short-handed here again. Cook played well as the starter against the Nets, but now gets a not so favorable matchup with Beverley. KD again is going to be hard to fade without Steph in the lineup. Tobias and Gallinari won’t be able to stop him here. Doc is a good coach, but I don’t think he has an answer for KD with his current roster. Dray may play so keep an eye for that. If he does that takes Bell and Looney off the board.
Tier 1: KD
Tier 2: Klay, Cook, Bell/Looney (if Dray sits)
LAC: The Boban has moved out of his starting role and back to the bench. Harrell is the play here in the frontcourt. Without Dray in the lineup he is close to a lock, with Dray he’s still pretty much a lock. If he pushes the 30 minute mark he should be able to exceed value no matter who is in the game against him. Gallinari and Harris are down in price and need a look here.
Tier 1: Harrell
Tier 2: Lou (GPP), Gallinari, Harris, Beverley
Good talk and good luck
